To spa or not to spa
September 26th, 2011Is there any better way to unwind after a stressful day than with a long hot bath? The heat is a therapeutic way to soothe tired or aching muscles, and the chance to simply relax and gather your thoughts is a chance we often miss in today's busy world. So if you're a fan of the tub, you might want to consider the ultimate in soaking experiences: a spa.
The main considerations when choosing a spa will be space, budget, and usage. If you have enough room, go for a dual tub so that two people can enjoy the spa together. However, if you're working with limited space, a single person tub can provide just as much relaxation.
First, you'll need to decide on your spa shape - will it be the corner spa, an oval or rectangle? If you're short on space, a corner tub might be better, whilst the oval and rectangle both open up your bathroom design to a nice sense of symmetry.
The number and types of jets you choose is also something to consider. Most spas will have around 6 jets, but it's possible to have more. Using a combination of hydro and air jets of various sizes - larger ones and smaller ones - can enhance the massage effect. The jets are usually placed in the walls or the bottom of the spa in order to massage your back and feet and ease away those aches and pains.
To truly create the ultimate relaxing spa experience, go for padded headrests and sculptured armrests so you can lie back and let your troubles melt away. A few candles, some flowers and soft music will also add to the indulgence.
